CrossPathCulture (CPC) is proud to present Jorge Salazar | Homeless, from March 15 through April 6, 2002, at CPC NYC, 135 west 50th street, ground floor. This show of Mr. Salazar's recent paintings is curated by Kim Esteve and Cannon Hersey. There will be an opening and artists' reception held on Friday, March 15 from 7-9pm, this event is free and open to the public. A closing gala will be held Thursday, April 4 from 7-9pm; RSVP is required.
Jorge Salazar was born in 1951 in Guadalajara, Mexico; he has lived in New York City since 1973. A self-taught artist, he works chiefly with oil on canvas. His work deals with the aural value of human interaction. His works are in a number of private collections throughout the world. Past exhibitions include a solo show at PS-1 and a group show, "Totem" at Charles Cowles Gallery. Past honors include two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. His last show was at Peter Bonnier/Len-Art Galleries, New York City, in December 1999. Jorge Salazar is a Chashama artist-in-residence 2001-02, and this exhibition is made possible through their support.
