Gabor Gyukics was born in 1958 in Budapest, Hungary. He has been living in the United States since 1988 where he has worked as a poet and a literary translator from English to Hungarian and Hungarian to English. A member of PEN International and ALTA (American Literary Translators Association), Gyukics is the author and editor of two collections of poetry, a Hungarian-American/English dictionary, and an anthology of American poetry translated into Hungarian. He recently released a book of poems in Hungarian and English titled Last Smile (Utolso Mosoly).

Michael Castro
Michael Castro was born in 1945 in New York City. He lives in St. Louis and teaches at Lindenwood College. A poet and founding editor of River Styx, a twenty-five year old literary magazine and arts organization, Castro is the author and editor of five collections of poetry and Interpreting the Indian: 20th Century Poets and the Native American.

Next year one of Castro and Gyukics' translations will appear in Oxford University's anthology of poetry based on Greek Mythology. They are currently looking for a publisher and can be e-mailed at robagcsiko@aol.com or letters may be sent to Gabor G. Gyukics, P.O. Box 02306, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11202.

Istvan Kemeny
Istvan Kemeny was born in 1961 in Budapest, Hungary. He is a graduate of ELTE with a degree in Hungarian and Literature. The winner of several literary prizes, he has published six books of poetry.

Katalin Ladik
Katalin Ladik was born in 1942 in Ujvidek (Novisad), Yugoslavia. As a poet, play write and performance-actress, she has experimented with sound-poetry and published five books of poetry.

Gyorgy Petri
Gyorgy Petri was born in 1943 in Budapest, Hungary. As a poet, translator, journalist and political activist, he won the Joszef Alexander prize in 1994 and has published nine books of poetry.

Krisztina Toth
Krisztina Toth was born in 1967 in Budapest, Hungary. As a poet and translator of French poetry into Hungarian, received several literary awards and has published four books of poetry.
