A native of New York and New England, Elizabeth Rogers has studied literature, art history and Asian civilizations from Harvard University, Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, Institut des Langues et Civilizations Orientales de Paris, Instiitut des Droits de l'Homme de Strasbourg, Beijing University, Fudan University (Shanghai), and Yale University.
Active internationally, she has written, critiqued, edited, lectured and curated exhibitions and catalogues on Chinese, Japanese, Himalayan, Khmer, Tibetan and Mongolian art and literature. Most recently the director and curator of the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art , Elizabeth Rogers has worked in numerous museums and non-profit foundations in the realms of contemporary and ancient art, human rights, and poetry. Currently reimmersed in writing on art and curating exhibitions, she plans to move to India in the Spring of 2000 to curate and catalogue the museums at Tibet House in New Delhi and the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in Dharamsala.
